“We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed.” (Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers Page 30)

1. Heresy: Sabbath before sabbath. The sabbaths was in existence before the creation week.

   Present Truth: “The Sabbath was instituted in Eden before the fall, and was observed by Adam and Eve, and all the heavenly host. God rested on the seventh day, and blessed and hallowed it; and I saw that the Sabbath would never be done away; but the redeemed saints, and all the angelic host, will observe it in honor of the great Creator to all eternity.” (1 SG 113.1)

    

2. Heresy: Week before week. The week was in existence before the creation week.

   Present Truth: “Like the Sabbath, the week originated at creation, and it has been preserved and brought down to us through Bible history. God Himself measured off the first week as a sample for successive weeks to the close of time.” (Patriarchs and Prophets Page 111)

    

3. Heresy: The fall of Satan and his angels took place before the creation week. (Link)

   Present Truth: “But when God said to His Son, “Let us make man in our image,” Satan was jealous of Jesus. He wished to be consulted concerning the formation of man, and because he was not, he was filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred. He desired to receive the highest honors in heaven next to God. Until this time all heaven had been in order, harmony, and perfect subjection to the government of God.” (Early Writings 145)

    

4. Heresy: After the fall, Satan still had access to heaven.

   Present Truth: “Christ wept at Satan’s woe, but told him, as the mind of God, that he could never be received into Heaven.” (1 SP 29.2)

    

5. Heresy: After the fall, Satan still had access to other planets.

   Present Truth: “The controversy was not to be taken into the other worlds of the universe; but it was to be carried on in the very world, on the very same field, that Satan claimed as his.” (RH March 9, 1886)

    

6. Heresy: The meeting in the book of Job took place in heaven. (Link)

   Present Truth: “And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.” Leviticus 16:7

   “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.” Job 1:6

   Satan does not have access to heaven nor other planets.

    

7. Heresy: Satan can fly. (Link)

   Present Truth: “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.” Genesis 3:14

    

8. Heresy: The Church is Christ’s bride. (Link)

   Present Truth: “The holy city, the New Jerusalem, which is the capital and representative of the kingdom, is called “the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” Said the angel to John, “Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” “He carried me away in the spirit,” says the prophet, “and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God.” [Revelation 21:9, 10.] Clearly, then, the bride represents the holy city, and the virgins that go out to meet the bridegroom are a symbol of the church. In the Revelation the people of God are said to be the guests at the marriage supper. [Revelation 19:9.] If guests, they cannot be represented also as the bride.” (The Great Controversy, Page 426.2)

    

9. Heresy: Sin before sin. God did not command Eve not to touch the forbidden fruit. (Link)

   Present Truth: “Adam and Eve in Eden were noble in stature, and perfect in symmetry and beauty. They were sinless, and in perfect health. What a contrast to the human race now! Beauty is gone. Perfect health is not known. Every where we look we see disease, deformity and imbecility. I inquired the cause of this wonderful degeneracy, and was pointed back to Eden. The beautiful Eve was beguiled by the serpent to eat of the fruit of the only tree of which God had forbidden them to eat, or even touch it lest they die.” (Spiritual Gifts, vol. 4a, Page 120)

    

10. Heresy: Adam & Eve had physical intimacy before the fall.(Link)

    Present Truth: “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.” Genesis 4:1

     

11. Heresy: The Son of God is an metaphorical expression and is not BEGOTTEN literally by God the Father.

    Present Truth: “God is the Father of Christ; Christ is the Son of God.” (8T 268)

    “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

    John 3:16 is not metaphorical.

     

12. Heresy: Christ took upon Himself Adam’s unfallen nature.

    Present Truth: “In taking upon Himself man’s nature in its fallen condition, Christ did not in the least participate in its sin.” (1SM 256)

     

13. Heresy: The birds fly in the first heaven and the planets are in the second heaven.

    Present Truth: “And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.” Genesis 1:8

    God created a singular firmament which He called Heaven during the creation week in Genesis 1. And that heaven contains birds, sun, moon & stars.

     

14. Heresy: Some of the angels that first join Satan in his apostasy repented and stayed in heaven.

    Present Truth:

    ​”Many of Lucifer’s sympathizers were inclined to heed the counsel of the loyal angels and repent of their dissatisfaction and be again received to the confidence of the Father and His dear Son. The mighty revolter then declared that he was acquainted with God’s law, and if he should submit to servile obedience, his honor would be taken from him. No more would he be intrusted with his exalted mission. He told them that himself and they also had now gone too far to go back, and he would brave the consequences, for to bow in servile worship to the Son of God he never would; that God would not forgive, and now they must assert their liberty and gain by force the position and authority which was not willingly accorded to them.” (The Story of Redemption, 16.2)

    ​​“Many were disposed to heed this counsel, to repent of their disaffection, and seek to be again received into favor with the Father and His Son. But Lucifer had another deception ready. The mighty revolter now declared that the angels who had united with him had gone too far to return; that he was acquainted with the divine law, and knew that God would not forgive. He declared that all who should submit to the authority of Heaven would be stripped of their honor, degraded from their position.” (Patriarchs and Prophets, 40.3)

    ​Inclined & disposed to, but never did repent. Almost is not quite!

15. Heresy: The General Conference represents the church of God and speaks for God.

    Present Truth: “That these men should stand in a sacred place, to be as the voice of God to the people, as we once believed the General Conference to be,—that is past. What we want now is a reorganization. We want to begin at the foundation, and to build upon a different principle.” (GCB April 3, 1901)

    “It has been some years since I have considered the General Conference as the voice of God.” (GCDB February 24, 1899)

     

16. Heresy: William Miller and all the pioneers predicted Jesus to return in 1843 and made a mistake in not counting the 0 year from BC to AD.

    Present Truth: “The 2300 days of Daniel 8:14, which all believed to extend to the second coming of Christ, had been thought to end in the spring of 1844” (Story of Redemption Page 369)

    Nobody miscounted the 0 year. The error was due to not having the light regarding midnight cry, not because of adding an additional year between 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. (Link)

     

17. Heresy: The mark of the beast is Sunday worship. (Link)

    Present Truth: “The mark of the beast is the papal sabbath” (Signs of the Times, November 8, 1899)

    It is not worshipping on Sunday that is the mark of the beast, but in paying honor to papal sabbath.

     

18. Heresy: Jesus does not have a beginning.

    Present Truth: “Through Solomon Christ declared: “The Lord possessed Me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth.... When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not pass His commandment; when He appointed the foundations of the earth; then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him.” (ST August 29, 1900)

     

19. Heresy: Spirits return to God immediately after death. (Link)

    Present Truth: “The spirit of Jesus slept in the tomb with his body, and did not wing its way to Heaven, there to maintain a separate existence, and to look down upon the mourning disciples embalming the body from which it had taken flight. All that comprised the life and intelligence of Jesus remained with his body in the sepulcher; and when he came forth it was as a whole being; he did not have to summon his spirit from Heaven. He had power to lay down his life and to take it up again.” (3 SP 203)

     

20. Heresy: Most of Elisha’s miracles were done after Elijah’s ascension to heaven. (Link)

    Present Truth: “It was during Jehoram’s reign over Israel that Jehoshaphat died, and Jehoshaphat’s son, also named Jehoram, ascended the throne of the kingdom of Judah. By his marriage with the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, Jehoram of Judah was closely connected with the king of Israel; and in his reign he followed after Baal, “like as did the house of Ahab.” “Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.” 2 Chronicles 21:6, 11.

    The king of Judah was not permitted to continue his terrible apostasy unreproved. The prophet Elijah had not yet been translated, and he could not remain silent while the kingdom of Judah was pursuing the same course that had brought the northern kingdom to the verge of ruin. The prophet sent to Jehoram of Judah a written communication, in which the wicked king read the awful words” (PP 212)

     

21. Heresy: Sunday laws will be enacted in ALL NON Christian nations.

    Present Truth: “As the Sabbath has become the special point of controversy throughout Christendom, and religious and secular authorities have combined to enforce the observance of the Sunday, the persistent refusal of a small minority to yield to the popular demand will make them objects of universal execration.” (GC 615)

     

22. Heresy: God the Father never really forsook Christ on the cross.

    Present Truth: “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46

    “And in that dreadful hour Christ was not to be comforted with the Father’s presence. He trod the wine press alone, and of the people there was none with Him.” (DA 753)

     

23. Heresy: Food, house & land preparations are needed for the time of trouble.

    Present Truth: “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” Romans 13:14

    “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Matthew 16:25

    “The Lord has shown me in vision, repeatedly, that it is contrary to the Bible to make any provision for our temporal wants in the time of trouble. I saw that if the saints have food laid up by them, or in the fields, in the time of trouble when sword, famine, and pestilence are in the land, it will be taken from them by violent hands, and strangers would reap their fields.” Broadside 2 January 31, 1849

    “As in the days Noah, there is too much eating and drinking, planting and building. The world has stolen the energies of the servants of Christ. Brethren, if you would have your religion honored by unbelievers, honor it yourselves by corresponding works. By a close connection with God and a strict adherence to Bible truth in the face of difficulty and worldly pressure, you may infuse the spirit of the truth into the hearts of your children so that they will work effectually with you as instruments in God’s hands for good.” Testimonies to the Church Vol 5 134.4

    Comment: The purpose of country living was to take our little ones, (children) out of the city to ensure their up bringing is consistent with a true Christian lifestyle, God centered education. Country living is not for the sole purpose of prepping and saving self in the last days!

    “And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.” Matthew 25:25

    When all your talent (money, time, resources etc) is solely used to plant and build your empire of self protection out of FEAR, know that God will pronounce the following: “His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant!”

24. Heresy: The Holy Spirit is a Person and not a person. (Link)

    Present Truth: “Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the third person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power.” (the Desire of Ages, Page 671.2)

     

25. Heresy: The church is to wait for a change to take place - a compelling power to take hold of them. This power is called the outpouring of the latter rain.

    Present Truth: “I was shown God’s people waiting for some change to take place—a compelling power to take hold of them. But they will be disappointed, for they are wrong. They must act, they must take hold of the work themselves and earnestly cry to God for a true knowledge of themselves.” (1T 261)

     

26. Heresy: The King James Bible in which Ellen White held above her head and called it the “word of God” is not perfect, contains errors, contains contradictions ,is fallible and you must speak multiple languages such as Greek and Hebrew to understand it (Link)

    Present Truth: “The Bible presents a perfect standard of character; it is an infallible guide under all circumstances, even to the end of the journey of life. Take it as the man of your counsel, the rule of your daily life.” (5T 264)

    “The truths most plainly revealed in the Bible have been involved in doubt and darkness by learned men, who, with a pretense of great wisdom, teach that the Scriptures have a mystical, a secret, spiritual meaning not apparent in the language employed. These men are false teachers. It was to such a class that Jesus declared: “Ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God.” Mark 12:24. The language of the Bible should be explained according to its obvious meaning, unless a symbol or figure is employed.” (Great Controversy 598.3)

    The language employed, NOT languages such as Greek & Hebrew that is not employed.

     

27. Heresy: The Holy Ghost is a heavenly being. And he is the comforter we need.

    Present Truth: “The reason why the churches are weak and sickly and ready to die, is that the enemy has brought influences of a discouraging nature to bear upon trembling souls. He has sought to shut Jesus from their view as the Comforter, as one who reproves, who warns, who admonishes them, saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it.” Christ has all power in heaven and in earth, and he can strengthen the wavering, and set right the erring.” (The Review and Herald, August 26, 1890)

     

28. Heresy: The only true God of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is a trinue god.

    Present Truth: “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
