Free speech is not a God given right.

Leviticus 24:15-16
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.
cursing God and blasphemy were actions not permitted under God's leadership.
James 3:5-10
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Jude 6-9
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
Michael the archangel when contending with the devil practiced restraint in His speech. Fallen angels in the name of free speech speak evil of dignities, curse God and blasphemes.
As followers of Christ, our prayer ought to be "Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips." Psalm 141.3
God gave us His only begotten Son and through Him (Jesus) we obtain freedom from sin. However, our beloved Savior did not die to give us the freedom of speech. It is not true freedom to be able utter murder, adultery, covetousness, cursing and blaspheme. This “freedom of speech” is Satan's counterfeit of Christ's “freedom from sin”.
