The Godhead

     The Godhead is a position of divine nature, and that position is the head of all principality and power. For it is written: "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." {Colossians 2:9-10}

Christ's great commission to the disciples was to, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew 28:19) red for emphasis: singular, not plural.

These three persons form the position that is described as the Godhead, the head of all principality and power. According to the scripture: the term "person" has 2 distinct meanings:

1) a man or a woman:

For example:
* "Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen." ~ Deuteronomy 27:25

2) an office

For example:
* "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons" ~ Acts 10:34
* "But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors." ~ James 2:9

While God is no respecter of persons (their office), He has respect for a person when the individual renders faithful obedience. For it is written: "And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering" Genesis 4:4. In another words, God respects "persons" when the term "persons" is defined under definition 1, and God does not respect "persons" when the term "persons" is defined under the definition 2. The three persons that form the position that is described as the Godhead are three offices with distinct roles as defined in definition 2).

In obedience to Christ's distinct command, the disciples went forth to baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Here is a list of its occurrences:

  1. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. ~ Acts 2:38
  2. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. ~ Acts 8:12
  3. (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ~ Acts 8:16
  4. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. ~ Acts 19:5

Therefore, the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is a SINGULAR name, and that name is Jesus Christ. The man Jesus Christ occupies three different offices of the Godhead, which is the head of all principality and power. For it is written: "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." ~ Matthew 28:18-19

In the great plan of salvation, God the Father commissions His Son to be the HEAD/Leader/Chief of 3 different offices/ministrations:

1. The ministration of the angels

“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, for my name is in him.” Exodus 23:20-21

  • "The Father send…"

  • the Name of the Father

2. The ministration of the Son of God

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18

  • "The Father gave…"

  • the Name of the Son

3. The ministration of the church

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name…” John 14:26

“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and o all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” Acts 20:28

  • "The Father will send…"

  • the Name of the Holy Ghost

Therefore, the ministration of Jesus Christ consists of the ministration of the angels (the name of the Father), the ministration of the Son of God (the name of the Son), and the ministration of the church (the name of the Holy Ghost).

Therefore, the man Jesus Christ is the head of the three offices which constitutes the head of all principality and power. For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
