Jesus, the Son of David

By flesh, Jesus Christ is the son of King David of Israel.
“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” Matthew 1:1
By spirit, Jesus Christ is the son of David the Most High God.
“He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David” Luke 1:32
Christ also shares the same name David as His heavenly Father.
“Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.” Exodus 23:21
“And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.” Ezekiel 34:23-24
At the time of the writings of Ezekiel, King David is already dead. Our Lord Jesus is the good shepherd that God will set up. Not King David.
“I AM the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” John 10:14
Christ is not honored to be the son of David by flesh.
“While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.” Matthew 22:41-46
Christ knows who His Father is, but King David, King Solomon, King Rehoboam, King Manasseh, King Jehoiakim, King Jehoiachin, King Zedekiah, Absalom, nor Joseph the husband of Mary, He DOES NOT consider to be His Father.
“And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:48-49
“And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” Matthew 23:9
Christ is born of the Spirit, not of flesh.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:6
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” Matthew 1:18
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
May the Son of David give you sight to see the Truth.
“And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.” Luke 18:37-42
