When God created a companion out of Adam's rib, Adam called her "Woman", because she was taken out of Man. And for the next 33.5 years, Adam referred to his wife Woman. Through inspiration, Moses gave instruction to the future generations that "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." (Genesis 2:24) This instruction, however was not given to Adam and his wife because they had no direct human father or mother. The instruction given to Adam and his wife was: "be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it..."(Genesis 1:28). Tending the Garden of Eden was their full time job and daily they carried forth their duty.
While Adam and Woman joined together in marriage since the sixth day of creation week, the thoughts of physical intimacy did not spring up in their minds. The joy of fellowship with Christ and His angels, and studying the world around them brought them the highest form of pleasure in their innocent minds. It would be odd in the modern day to be married to somebody and not be physically intimate, but that was the case with Joseph and Mary before the Messiah was born.
After losing their innocence from eating the fruit of the forbidden tree, "Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living" (Genesis 3:20) and "Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain..." (Genesis 4:1). Thus, just as Joseph and Mary were not physically intimate until the Messiah was born, Adam and Eve were not physically intimate until the Messiah was promised.
As you can see, the virgin Woman, through Satan's deception became the beguiled Eve. O may we follow God by believing in every single word that comes out of the Bible. After the fall, the words "be fruitful and multiply" took on a deeper meaning. For God did not forsake Adam and his wife, He gave them the promise of a coming Redeemer through child bearing. For it is written: "For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." (1 Timothy 2:13-15)
In conclusion, prior to receiving the name Eve, the woman was a chaste virgin.
"For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:2-3)
